School Wellness Programs

JUNTOS’ vision is for all teachers and support personnel directly working with students in Lennox District to have baseline knowledge of impact of trauma on student wellness and academic achievement and have a baseline knowledge of strategies and interventions in trauma informed care. In order to achieve this, JUNTOS provides a wide range of professional development and support services to increase teachers’ skills, knowledge and confidence in trauma informed care. JUNTOS provides the following programs and services to meet the needs of the Lennox School District and enable teachers and support personnel to create an optimal classroom environment for Lennox students.


 

Programs

School Staff Consultation Services

School Staff Consultation Services provides school staff members with consultations on issues related to student matters.

Psycho-education Classroom Workshops

Psycho‐education Classroom Workshops offer in‐class workshops on topics such as developing tools for self‐regulation, the impact of trauma on students and families, and using elements of mindfulness in the classroom.

Empathetic Connection Workshop for Preschool and School Readiness Staff

Empathetic Connection Workshop for Preschool and School Readiness Staff is a two‐day workshop designed to present an overview of key non-violent and trauma-informed principles with special focus on empathy and nonviolence.

Professional Development Workshops

Professional Development Workshops address topics requested by the Lennox School District, like Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and from feedback from the teachers themselves. Topics include, but are not limited to, How to Teach Students to Self-Regulate; Similarities and Differences Between ADHD, Trauma and Spectrum Disorder and Classroom Strategies to Reach All Three; and Trauma 101.
